Events

As you already know the famous Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in Saint-Moritz held the 15th Christmas Tree Auction on the 21st of December 2013, a major charity event in partnership with the famous auction house- Christie’s, where De Roval Champagne have had the pleasure to participate.

On this occasion twenty-nine exclusive luxury brands have combined their creativity in presenting their unique Christmas trees, generously auctioned under Christie’s hammer.
A specially made golden pyramid has been offered from De Roval for this unique night. This piece has taken weeks of work in the studios of house. Small lily flowers, the emblems of the company, have been cut out by laser on each side of the pyramid and were illuminated from within by integrated neon lights that made the whole masterpiece shimmer from within almost like by magic.

It was not the first time that De Roval Champagne has participated in a Charity event. The previous event took place in President Wilson 5 stars Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland for the “Action Sabrina” where the well known auctioneer François Curiel (chairman of Christie’s in Asia) sold a unique De Roval jewel- a bottle ornamented with a lily flower set with 122 rubies and 254 diamonds for 14’000 Swiss Francs. All money raised was donated to charities providing support for children with cancer.

This time in St-Moritz, the Christmas tree auction was raising money for The Engadine Ski School for the Blind, KIBE (Kinderkrippe Engadin) and Ufficina. Exceptionally this year the St. Moritz Auction supported also the Funf for their help in Philippines.

The viewing of the trees was the first part of this BIG night. Upon the arrival all guest had a chance to taste and savour a glass of De Roval Champagne. A sumptuous bar especially designed for the occasion has been set just by outstretching, breath-taking view over the Swiss mountains. Many prestigious brands have participated in this auction along with De Roval: Chopard, De Grisogono, IWC, Loro Piana, Michael Kors, Stefano Ricci, Yves Saint Laurent, and many others.

The events of the night finally gave place to the anticipated auction! De Roval pyramid was the lot number 8 sold for 6’500 Swiss Francs, which was the 4th most expensive tree sold this night!

After the auction the guests have followed to the dinner gala entertained live by Stacey & Band held in the 5 star hotel’s Ball Room.
